Oslo Three Light Island Pendant by Generation Lighting
The Oslo three light island pendant anchors your kitchen or dining space with clean mid-century lines and a sculptural metal shade. We designed this fixture to deliver both ambient and task lighting over islands, counters, and tables where families gather. The elongated housing holds three medium-base sockets, allowing you to customize brightness and color temperature to match your daily routines.

The Oslo pendant measures 36 inches in length, 8 inches in width, and 8 inches in height before you account for downrod drop. We include four downrods in every box: two 6-inch stems and two 12-inch stems that thread together in any combination you need. This gives you suspension options from a minimum 14-inch drop to a maximum 38-inch drop, measured from ceiling to the bottom of the shade.

Finish Options & Style Pairings
We offer the Oslo in two powder-coated finishes: matte black and brushed nickel. The matte black version carries a soft, non-reflective surface that hides dust and fingerprints between cleanings, making it the top choice for high-traffic kitchens. Brushed nickel brings a warmer metallic tone that complements stainless appliances and chrome cabinet hardware without the mirror shine of polished nickel.
Both finishes share the same geometric shade design—three flat panels that angle downward to direct light onto your work surface while keeping upward glare out of your eyes. The open top allows some light to bounce off the ceiling for ambient fill, balancing task and general illumination in one fixture. If you’re furnishing a space that blends modern and rustic elements, Oslo’s clean lines pair naturally with reclaimed wood countertops, subway tile backsplashes, and open shelving. The same steel construction found in our Belton pendant lineup carries over here, so you can mix families across rooms for a cohesive lighting plan.

Bulb Selection & Light Output
Oslo’s three-socket design lets you control both brightness and color temperature by choosing the right bulbs. For general kitchen tasks—meal prep, homework, casual dining—we recommend three 60W-equivalent LED bulbs in the 2700K to 3000K range. That warm white output mimics traditional incandescent light and makes food and skin tones look natural.
If your island doubles as a workspace where you need higher visibility, step up to three 75W-equivalent LEDs in 3500K or 4000K. The cooler color temperature increases contrast and reduces eye strain during detailed work. Each socket accepts bulbs up to 100W incandescent or the LED equivalent, so you have headroom to adjust as your needs change. We’ve tested Oslo with A19, A21, and globe-style bulbs; all fit within the shade without protruding below the bottom edge.

Oslo Three Light Island Pendant Questions
The maximum drop height is 38 inches from ceiling to the bottom of the shade, achieved by threading together both 12-inch downrods. The minimum drop is 14 inches using the shortest included stem. If you need a longer drop, additional 12-inch downrods are available separately and thread onto the existing stems. Most installations over kitchen islands work best with a 30 to 36-inch drop above the countertop.
The standard canopy and crossbar are designed for flat ceilings only. For sloped or vaulted ceilings, you’ll need a slope ceiling adapter kit sold separately. These adapters typically accommodate slopes up to 45 degrees and include an angled canopy that mounts flush against the slanted surface. Verify your ceiling angle with a digital level before ordering the adapter to ensure compatibility.
No, bulbs are not included with the fixture. You’ll need to purchase three medium-base E26 bulbs separately. We recommend 60W-equivalent LED bulbs in 2700K for warm white light, or 3500K for cooler task lighting. Each socket accepts bulbs up to 100W incandescent or the LED equivalent. Choose dimmable LEDs if you plan to install a dimmer switch.
The Oslo is rated for damp locations, meaning it can be installed in covered outdoor areas like screened porches, covered patios, and three-season rooms where it’s protected from direct rain and snow. It is not rated for wet locations, so do not install it in fully exposed outdoor areas or anywhere water can directly contact the fixture. Indoor kitchens and bathrooms with normal humidity levels are also approved applications.
Turn off power at the breaker and let the bulbs cool completely. Wipe the exterior with a damp microfiber cloth, using a mild dish soap solution for stubborn grease. Avoid abrasive pads, ammonia-based cleaners, and solvents that can damage the powder coat. Dry immediately with a second cloth to prevent water spots. For best results, clean the fixture every two to three months in kitchens with heavy cooking activity.
The complete fixture weighs approximately 12 pounds with all downrods and canopy hardware installed. Your ceiling junction box must be rated to support at least 50 pounds for safe installation. Most modern octagonal and round junction boxes meet this requirement, but older boxes or pancake boxes may not. If you’re unsure about your existing box, have a licensed electrician inspect it before hanging the fixture.
Yes, the Oslo is compatible with most smart LED bulbs that use a standard E26 base. You can control color temperature, brightness, and scheduling through your smart home app without needing a separate dimmer switch. Keep in mind that if you install a physical wall dimmer, it may interfere with smart bulb functionality. For best results with smart bulbs, use a standard on-off switch and control dimming through the bulb’s app.
