Generation Lighting Wall Sconce Collection
Our Feiss Roscoe sconce brings vintage charm to hallways, bedrooms, and powder rooms with its oil-rubbed bronze backplate and clear seeded glass shade. The single 60-watt candelabra bulb casts warm, diffused light through the hand-blown glass, highlighting subtle air bubbles and ripples that give each shade unique character.

We build every Generation Lighting wall sconce with powder-coated steel or aluminum backplates that resist chipping and corrosion through daily use. The oil-rubbed bronze, aged iron, and brushed nickel finishes undergo multi-stage application and curing to ensure color consistency and long-term durability.

Sizing & Placement Guidelines
Wall sconce scale depends on the mounting surface and surrounding architecture. For flanking bathroom mirrors, we recommend fixtures 9 to 12 inches tall mounted 60 to 65 inches from the finished floor—this positions the light source at eye level for even facial illumination.
Hallway sconces work best spaced 8 to 10 feet apart along a corridor, with fixtures centered 66 inches above the floor. For bedroom reading lights, swing-arm or adjustable models like the Chapman & Myers Bistro allow precise positioning over nightstands without hardwiring multiple junction boxes.

Bulb Compatibility & Light Output
Our sconces use three common socket types: E12 candelabra, E26 medium base, and integrated LED modules. Candelabra sockets pair with decorative Edison-style bulbs or compact LED candles, typically producing 300 to 500 lumens per socket. Medium-base sockets accommodate standard A19 bulbs up to 100 watts incandescent equivalent, giving you flexibility to choose LED, CFL, or halogen sources.
Integrated LED sconces like the Ethan cylinder deliver fixed lumen output—usually 600 to 1,000 lumens—with built-in drivers and non-replaceable modules rated for 25,000 to 50,000 hours of operation. These fixtures eliminate bulb replacement but lock you into a single color temperature, so confirm the Kelvin rating matches your space before installation.

Wall Sconce Questions We Hear Most
Most of our sconces mount vertically only, with the backplate oriented upright and the shade or glass extending outward. The Ethan cylinder sconce specifically supports both vertical and horizontal installation, allowing you to orient the fixture based on your design needs.
Check the installation guide included with your fixture for approved mounting orientations. Horizontal installation of a vertical-only sconce can stress the mounting points and void the warranty.
Damp-rated sconces tolerate high humidity and indirect moisture contact, making them suitable for bathrooms, laundry rooms, and covered porches where rain doesn’t reach the fixture directly. Wet-rated sconces withstand direct water spray and exposure, necessary for uncovered outdoor installations.
Our wall sconce collection includes primarily damp-rated models. For fully exposed exterior locations, explore our outdoor lighting category, which features wet-rated lanterns and wall-mount fixtures engineered for weather resistance.
Installation requires basic electrical knowledge and familiarity with local building codes. If you’re comfortable working with junction boxes, wire connectors, and circuit breakers, and your municipality allows homeowner electrical work, you can complete the installation yourself using the included instructions.
Hiring a licensed electrician ensures code compliance, proper grounding, and warranty protection. Most electricians complete single-sconce installations in 30 to 45 minutes, with costs varying by region and complexity.
Measure the wall height and width where the sconce will mount. For flanking applications—such as bathroom mirrors or doorways—the sconce height should be one-quarter to one-third the height of the feature it’s illuminating. A 48-inch mirror pairs well with 12 to 16-inch sconces.
In hallways and staircases, select fixtures proportional to the corridor width. Narrow hallways under 4 feet wide work best with sconces 6 to 9 inches wide, while wider spaces accommodate 10 to 14-inch models without feeling crowded.
Yes, all our E12 candelabra and E26 medium-base sconces accept LED bulbs up to the maximum wattage listed on the socket label. LED bulbs consume significantly less power than incandescent equivalents, so a 60-watt-rated socket safely accommodates a 9-watt LED producing equivalent light output.
For best results, choose LED bulbs with a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 90 or higher to ensure accurate color reproduction. Dimmable LED bulbs require compatible dimmer switches—check both the bulb and dimmer specifications before purchasing.
Every sconce ships with the fixture body, glass shade or diffuser, mounting backplate, hardware kit (screws, anchors, wire nuts), and printed installation instructions. Bulbs are not included unless specifically noted in the product description.
Integrated LED models include the LED module and driver pre-installed. Swing-arm and adjustable sconces include the articulation mechanism fully assembled. Verify all components against the packing list immediately upon delivery and contact customer service within 48 hours if anything is missing or damaged.
We provide a three-year limited warranty covering defects in materials, workmanship, and finish under normal residential use. The warranty includes electrical components, LED modules in integrated fixtures, and structural elements like backplates and arms.
The warranty does not cover damage from improper installation, unauthorized modifications, or use in environments exceeding the fixture’s rating (such as installing a dry-rated sconce in a wet location). Register your product within 30 days of purchase to activate full warranty coverage and access expedited replacement services.
