Visual Comfort Signature Linear Chandelier
Our Visual Comfort Signature linear chandelier brings architectural sophistication to any room with its extended profile and handcrafted details. Each piece is designed to float above dining tables, kitchen islands, or entryway consoles — creating a dramatic focal point without overwhelming the space.

We offer the Visual Comfort linear chandelier in seven signature finishes — aged iron, polished nickel, soft brass, matte black, burnished silver leaf, antique gild, and natural rust. Each finish is applied by hand in small batches, so subtle variations in patina and sheen are a hallmark of authenticity rather than a defect.

Sizing & placement
A linear chandelier should span roughly two-thirds the length of your dining table or island. For a six-foot table, we recommend a 48-inch fixture; for an eight-foot island, consider a 60- or 72-inch model. Hang the bottom of the chandelier 30–36 inches above the tabletop — high enough to avoid sightline obstruction, low enough to create intimacy.
If your ceiling exceeds ten feet, we include extension rods or extra chain links at no charge. Sloped ceilings require a canopy adapter, which we ship with applicable models. Measure your space carefully and consult our chandelier installation resources before ordering — proper placement transforms a beautiful fixture into a truly transformative one.

Installation & electrical requirements
Standard junction box
Most Visual Comfort linear chandeliers mount to a standard 4-inch round or octagonal junction box rated for at least 50 pounds. If your fixture weighs more or if you’re installing on a cathedral ceiling, you’ll need a fan-rated or bar-hanger box. We provide a detailed weight specification with every model so your electrician can verify support.
Wiring & dimming
All our chandeliers are prewired and ready to connect to 120V household current. If you plan to use a dimmer, choose an LED-compatible model rated for the total wattage of your bulbs. We recommend having a licensed electrician handle the final connection, especially if you’re replacing an older fixture or adding a new circuit. Once installed, register your fixture online to activate the warranty and receive care reminders.

Common questions about Visual Comfort linear chandeliers
Visual Comfort Signature emphasizes artisan craftsmanship and traditional design vocabularies — think hand-applied finishes, classic silhouettes, and materials like brass and aged iron. Visual Comfort Modern leans toward clean lines, integrated LED technology, and contemporary proportions. Both collections share our commitment to quality, but Signature pieces often feature more ornamentation and vintage-inspired details.
Yes. All our chandeliers accept standard LED bulbs unless otherwise noted. If your model has integrated LED modules, no bulb purchase is necessary — the light source is built in and rated for 50,000 hours or more. Check the product specifications to confirm socket type and maximum wattage, then choose LED bulbs that match your desired color temperature and brightness.
Measure the length of your table or island, then select a fixture that spans roughly two-thirds of that dimension. A 72-inch table pairs well with a 48-inch chandelier; a 96-inch island works beautifully with a 60- or 72-inch fixture. If your space is unusually wide or narrow, our design team can recommend custom proportions — contact us with your room dimensions and photos.
We recommend a minimum ceiling height of eight feet, with the fixture hanging 30–36 inches above the tabletop or island surface. If your ceilings are nine feet or higher, we include extra chain or rod sections so you can achieve the ideal hanging height. For vaulted or cathedral ceilings, order a sloped-ceiling adapter with your fixture.
Most models are compatible with standard dimmer switches, but you must pair them with dimmable LED bulbs or integrated modules. Non-dimmable LEDs will flicker or fail to dim smoothly. We recommend installing an LED-rated dimmer from a reputable manufacturer — your electrician can verify compatibility during installation.
Living finishes like aged iron, natural rust, and antique gild will develop a deeper patina as they age — this is a designed characteristic that adds warmth and individuality. Sealed finishes like polished nickel and matte black remain stable with routine care. If you want to preserve the original appearance of a living finish, apply a thin coat of furniture wax annually.
Every Visual Comfort linear chandelier ships with the fixture body, canopy, mounting hardware, adjustable chain or rod sections, wire connectors, and a detailed installation guide. Bulbs are not included unless the product page specifies integrated LED. We also provide a warranty card and care instructions. All components are inspected before packing to ensure nothing is missing.
